landscaping idea
Well hello there interwebs world. Time for another Warming Trends blog about fire pits. Today we are going to discuss the varieties of fire pits available on the market. There are three main varieties of fire pits available and each is described in a little more detail below:

Prefabricated, Ready to Finish, Fire Pit
Prefabricated fire pits are typically round, square, octagon or rectangle shaped fire pits frames that are covered in fire-proof concrete fiberboard and are ready to be faced by you or a contractor with stone, faux stone or stucco.

Square fire pit frame. Ready to finish.

These are usually middle of the road cost-wise, but are great because you can finish off the pit with stone that matches your patio or home. These are probably the most popular type of fire pit because they are easy to install and act as a fantastic centerpiece for your patio or outdoor living room. Generally, prefabricated fire pits are installed above-ground.

Custom Teardrop Fire Pit
Custom fire pits are the way to go if you have the time, space and cash to make the ideal fire pit for your backyard entertainment space. A custom built-in fire pit will offer nearly limitless size, shape and decorative options. Custom fire pits can be built in-ground or above-ground. This example shown here is a custom tear drop fire pit in Boulder, Colorado. If you can dream up a design, we can build it.

In Ground Fire Pit
In ground fire pits give you the feel of a campfire and sit flush with the ground. These are nice and decorative if you like the feel of the great outdoors. The only disadvantage to in ground fire pits is that they do not provide a ledge to place your feet or drinks on.

According to the landscaping network, "Round fire pits work best for conversation areas because the round shape encourages guests to sit and converse. Square fire pits offer a classy, high-end feel, making them a great fit for formal and structured gardens. A rectangular pit will work well next to a seat wall or bench, as a backdrop for a water feature or swimming pool and for warming large groups. A unique shape option is the L-shaped pit, which works well in corners.

Since built-in fire pits are permanent features, youll want to consider the location carefully. Making sure your custom fire pit is built in a safe, convenient and central location will ensure that it gets used. Never tuck a fire pit in an out of the way destination, a fire pit is much like a kitchen, it becomes the center of activity."
